I am currently trying to install Windows XP (in dual boot with the pre-installed Vista) on my laptop but I can't add another partition. In fact I downloaded a trial of Paragon Partition Manager and tried to add a new partition with it in order to install Windows XP but there was an error and the program said : "Wizard did not find any hard disks where a new volume can be created". Then it was written : "The disk already contains four primary partitions. Basic hard disks can only contain four partitions"
I then realized that I had two visible partitions and two hidden ones which contain the backups made by Acer I suppose (there recovery method).
I already made the recovery disks, so my question is : is it safe to delete one of these hidden partitions ?

you should be able to make shed of them... but i'd burn myself a second set of recovery disks just incase..

ahhh screw it... just wipe them out.... you seem to know what you are doing.. and there is always the LEGAL VISTA DOWNLOAD LINK in the windows forum...

who needs all that acer crap anyway!

    thanks for the answer ^^.
I still don't know if I'm going to do it. Perhaps I'll install Windows Server 2008 too following the guide on this forum.

Yeah, from what I've seen on your guide, and some personal research that I made, it seems pretty fast. Now, I must see if it's faster than Windows XP too.
