So I have this new Aspire 5520-5290, and I'm trying to take off the memory cover, but I can't do it. It seems as if all 4 screws were tightened with an impact wrench or something. The only screwdriver I have that will fit aren't big enough for me to loosen the screws.

    Any advice?

    Get a screwdriver that fits.

Or better, get a chainsaw, that will work :p

I don't think I have EVER seen a screwdriver that would fit these small screws that would be long enough to do that job.

You need to get a pc repair kit and or a eyeglass kit to get some of the smaller screws out on pcs.

DO NOT STRIP THE SCREWS I repead do NOT STRIP THEM using a wrong size tool.

I have an eyeglass screwdriver and it fits the screws... but it is much too small to get enough torque to loosen these screws. They are very tight.

Does a PC repair kit come with a longer screwdriver or something?

I went to a locally owned hardware store and got a "precision" screwdriver with 6 different bits, and the Phillips #00 worked.

    Thanks!
