I need help! I can't save my changes to the power options settings. For example, if I create a custom power plan under power options, it disappears upon waking from hibernation or upon restart. Any changes I make such as boosting the performance of the wireless card or dimming the screen gets reset back to default upon waking or restart. How can I save my changes under power options?

Where do you see an option to change wireless card performance? Is it just under Vista? On 7 I have yet to find an option for that. As far as your problem goes try running the power center in forced admin mode to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks!...How do I get in 'forced admin mode'?

In the Control Panel in Vista, under Mobile PC, click on Change Battery Settings. Click on Change Plan Settings, then Change Advanced Power Settings. You can find power controls for the wireless card there.
