There are some acer stickers on the notebook from Acer with the specs of the notebook. Can you read Bluetooth on that stickers? No - ok than you do not have Bluetooth - even if you have a Buetooth Switch on the front :-(.
If yes - ok you have got the wrong driver. -
Sounds like you don't have bluetooth hardware... which um, yeah, would be a bit of a stumbling block to working bluetooth.

Anybody know how to get one from Acer? -
I'd be interested to hear if you find out where you can get the module as well - I've got a 9301 and no Bluetooth at present - it's a bit frustrating to say the least!

none of the aspire 9300 range come with a bluetooth adaptor; however there are provisions for one to be installed. The problem is that in order to install it you need to take the unit apart to get at the connector for it underneath the upper cover.

I found sellers of bluetooth modules but there are several connectors possible to use and none of them mention the 9300 series Acer Laptops.
Have you any idea which connector is used with the 9300 boards, where it's found and if I need to tear any warranty seals to get access to the connector?
I've worked on plenty of electronic components & can surely do the job but I don't want to do anything that would show I voided the warranty while it's still covered.
Any suggestions & the gravy would be info on the way to open the case without spare parts flying everywhere...
Thanks! -
i've had a bluetooth module fitted to my unit but i've forgotten the part number, also a separate cable needs to be purchased. Acer do make bluetooth modules for these units. In order to get to the connector for this you needs to remove all of the screws from the lower cover as well as the two screws at the rear, you also need to remove the keyboard and the hinge cover below the screen. Then you need to take the LCD module off the unit and then finally remove the upper cover. On the left hand edge of the mainboard you'll see a small connector labelled "blue". this is where the cable connects.

Hi,
the part numbers for the original Acer bluetooth module and the cable needed can be found in the "Field Replaceable Unit" list here: https://www.mk-electronic.de/hersteller/PDFDokumente/Acer/Mobile%20System(MS)/Aspire/9300.pdf

you need to remove all of the smaller covers from the underside of the unit, including the battery. This will reveal some screws that were hidden before (including the small screws where the battery was). Then remove the 2 screws from the rear of the unit. Then you need to gently lever the hinge cover off. The keyboard is held down with some little tabs, work from one side to the other without putting any excessive force on the keyboard all the tabs, gently lifting the keyboard as you go. The rest of the unit should be self explanitary. Be sure the make a careful note of where the screws came from and that all of the cables are routed neatly when the unit is being reassembled.
I cant make a step-by-step with pictures as its a little late and i need to have my computer for work next week.
Hope you find this information useful.
