    Hi

I just got my Acer AO531 todayI hooked it up with my HDTV and then I realize a problem: When I try to wake it up after sleep, I have to open the lid, press a key, then close it again, which is very bothering.

I tried to wake it up with my wireless mouse/keyboard combo (through a receiver on USB port), no luck. I am sure that "allow this device to wake your computer on" for both are clicked.

Is there anyway I can solve this problem? It it an issue with BIOS?

    Thank you

I guess it goes into a deeper suspend state so it may cut the power to the usb ports; I encountered the same problem but I am glad it react so because otherwise even the slightest movement of the mouse will wake up the system. Now I keep the lid open on the shelf. You may try also some settings regarding the usb ports to maintain power in standby but I doubt this will work.

Thanks for the help above. Now I got a strange problem.

My wireless mice can wake the computer up while the lid is opened. However when I keep the lid closed and connect to HDTV it cannot do that. I tried both the balanced and power saving mode.

in your windows power profile, change what closing the lid does. Change it from putting it to sleep to something like 'Turn the laptop monitor off'. This should take care of the problem of the laptop going to sleep.

I chose "do nothing" for that option and seems that doesnt help.

You shouldn't leave a laptop on with the lid closed. Heat from the CPU/hard drive/other internal components may damage the screen.

    Update:

The problem is still not solved.

1GB seems to be the bottleneck of this netbook. Thinking of upgrading to 2GB, but cannot find the type of memory it uses. Any ideas?

CUP-Z should tell you what's installed. The replacement module should have the same specs (apart from size since you want more).
