I cant access this partition and have tried the guide but this wont work.

I followed the instructions but the guide says to change the 12 in the boot section to 07. There is no 12 when I do this on PTEDIT, there is only 0's and an 80. I changed the 80 to 07 but this did not work. When I rebooted I got a message saying 'Invalid Partition Table'.

Does anyone know if there is anything else I can do to access the hidden partition?

I had similar problems, but gave up in the knowledge that there's really little you can do with it anyway. It's only there for the restore discs to use if your system crashed.

However, I noticed that if you try to copy over to a new hard drive you *must* take this partition with you (at least on the 2410) otherwise the new drive won't boot. A minor annoyance, but less so when you're moving to a larger drive. Mind, on the 2410 (Win XP) it's only a waste of 3Gb or so. My girlfriend has a newer Acer running Vista and it's a whopping 10Gb. That's a lot of mp3 storage space!
