I am trying to boot my laptop from the hidden partition to re-install Vista. The problem is that I stupidly installed Windows XP on a partition on the hard drive so now it boots straight into XP and by passes Vista all together.

When I press ALT + F10 together nothing happens and Windows XP loads. It does not even give me the option of booting from Vista.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can delete Windows XP from this partition so that my computer only boots from Vista?

I do not have any CD/DVD with Vista - only the hidden partition on the HDD.

    Please help!!
    Cheers

Same as what happened to me....and no one answered

But i did this (given you still have the hidden system partition)

1- you have to have vista (get it your way)
2- download & install all drivers from acer + acer empowering tech programs (all of them ...)
3- start acer erecovery (dont forget to install it) --> burn disc (lower menu) --> create factory default disc

    This will need 2 DVDs....

And the good thing it will make an image of the hidden partition, then you can restore your laptop to its factory settings.

Note: I did that with my 5920G...i dont know what is your laptop so i cant garintee anything........

    peace....
