Hmmm, I just got it 3 days ago, I usually have it plugged in, I was transferring files between my desktop for about 10 - 15 minutes and my battery life dropped down to 70%, said it had around 1.8 hours left from 3 hours of battery life. I'll check sometime tonight to see if it can finish playing a DVD.

I think 4005 would eat up the battery life quicker because of the faster processor and would also run as hot. Plus the mouse that comes with it is not that great. Besides that, its great for a desktop replacement. I have repartition it and have winxp and ubuutu installed. I did have some troubles seting up ubuutu. It played every game I have thrown at it.

slayersz, the 4002 has played games you have thrown at it? im interested in the 4005 but the 4002 would suit my budget if it can play WoW and CS:S and games like that, does yours have 512mb of ram as well? or did you upgrade?

ultraman, when i first installed ubuntu, I just got a black screen. Couldn't automatically obtain drivers with the ubuntu so I had to install everything manually.

    http://pages.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~weckerl/ferrari_ubuntu_64.html

this website really did help me through the process

    also, couldn't play any dvds.

parksah, yeah, i have 512 MB RAM, I've tried sims2, Sid Meier's Pirates, civilization III, alpha centari so far.

is the 4002 the same type of design as the 4005? black rubber casing? carbon fibre lid? 8 degree keyboard?

parksah, yup, its the same design.

Ultraman, I was able to play 2:30 hours with the DVD. Also, had one hour left to spare.
