In the past i had some problmes using modded drivers and OCing for my x700. I tried nearly all the modded drivers and the officials and none had worked except from acer (release date november 05). Then i put my hands in this mobility version catalyst 6.5 and it played like a puppy. Very smooth in oblivion and TR:Legend. For whos interested go to http://www.ati.com/online/mobilecatalyst/. If you try to go by their main page probably you won't suceed in downloading cause they have some tool to see if it's compatible. the tool said mine wasn't but then again i'm playing oblivion with 435/394 with oc from Ati tray tools. bye

thx, i check this

Att you say. Interesting. No Ok for me though. Att won't work with 6.4 or 6.5 on my comp. It overclocks normally, but when the game enters the 3d mode it goes back to the default speeds. I downloaded omega 6.5 and it includes special att version, so I am going to test it.
Cheers,

Currently I have Omega 6.5 mod and ATT doen't have a lotm of config ( like latencies) but t5he overall performance increased. cheers

Do the drivers support X1600?
-
Yes. In matter of fact most of the features enhance the performance of x1K graPHICs chipset. (that includes your x1600) The official release is in a previous post in this tread or u can get the OMEGA in www.driverheaven.net for even better performance and u don't have to use catalyst CCC) cheers

Ok so i downloaded them and installed them instead of my older Omega drivers. Here is the thing though... when you are installing the drivers, you are asked if your graphics card is a mobile solution. If you say yes, it disables overclocking. If you say no, and decide to overclock anywayz, it messes everything up and doestn work at all. i cant even lunch the little red cube manager program if i say that my card is a desktop. How do you go around this? Cause i definately want to overclock...

Vlad_I, my bad. I didn't mentioned that ati Tray tool doesn' t work with x1K chipset. In fact this util goes in the Omega bundle to act as a control panel nothing else. to go around that you have to install Ati tool in here http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ and you will be able to OC your GPU and Memory. Ati Tool didn't worked in some mobile chipsets cause hipermemory, but with Omega you should be fine. i would appreciate if you replied your results so others can see. Danke
