    Clean install

    Hi, I have been looking for an acer desktop forum with no look so I would like to try here.
    I have an Xp Acer T120 about 3 years old and it is now full up with junk, I have removed loads of stuff but I need to clean install.
    I have an acer laptop and on that I can quite easily re install windows by just pressing alt and f10. and hey presto the process begins.
    On my desktop I have had no such luck, I have looked at the acer manual and it does not mention anything on re-installing windows. The computer came pre installed and I have a recovery disk also, but when I insert the recovery disk nothing happens. If I click on the files on the recovery disk they don't open.
    I think I need something prior to the recovery disk to start the process but what?

    You have to boot your machine off that recovery disk, not use it in windows...

    I have tried changing the boot options to cd rom first but it does not boot from the disk.

    sounds like a duff disk then as it should boot
