    Hey gang,

I recently received my notebook, and have started to notice that the hard drive will click for no apparent reason. I was alright at first, but now its really noticable. I've had the computer for 15 days. Is this something that Acer's warranty will cover, or should I just go out and buy a new hard drive?

    Thanks

If the drive is defective, it will be covered under warranty. If your drive is clicking continuously non-stop or in a speficic pattern, then it's likely you have a propblem. But, if the drive just occasionally makes a click noise, it most cases, this is normal. You may want to try downloading a utility to test your HDD. Find the HDD brand in Device Manager, and goto their site to see if they have a HDD diagnostic utility to test your drive. If the tests pass, then there's nothing really wrong with the drive. You can still contact Acer and see if they'll replace it for you, but they may give you some difficulty if it passes the tests.
