Hi, I just want to know if you guys can compare the Quanta (QD15TL072/QDS0041) displays with the AUO (B154EW02 V1/AUO2174).
AUO
Positives
I don't know what I'm talking about since I never had a lcd monitor before but the one that I got, the AUO seems to have very good brightness and evenly lite with no light leakages. This might be the case with the Quanta too since they both have Crystal Bright. Another thing is you can look quite far away and it still looks good.
Negatives
I think the biggest trouble area is the viewing angles. The perfect angle seems to be the center and only the center. Even if my head go a little up from the middle the screen starts to wash out into white very quickly. Though when I get down, the colors consistency stays a lot better but the tones get a little darker. The horizontals is more like the vertical down effect but a little worse. Another thing is the color contrast which seem a little in the dark (too much red tone) side. Or is all notebook lcds like that? One other little thing is what I think is a dead red pixel on the color filter.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of reviews for the AUO screen but the only one that came close was here:

But thats for hp dv6140ea and nothing for the Quanta.
How about you guys, especially those with the Quanta display, can you share your thoughts of the display? Likes/dislikes? Maybe you have both, can you share some pictures if you don't mind.![]()

While I realize this post is for Quanta and AUO screens, I saw you mentioned a dv6000 series notebook so:
I have a LPL (LG Philips) screen in mine and it's 100% perfect.
No light leakage, 0 dead pixels, viewing angle from the left and right is amazing, and it's very crisp and bright.
Screen resolution 1280x800 is perfect for this 15.4" screen.
The viewing angle from the top isn't bad eiter, and the Brightview option makes this my favorite screen.
I've had Samsung, and AUO screens in the past and they don't hold up to this LG.
