Hi,
I own an Acer 3003.
I've had it for less than a year. Recently, the battery life started to diminish. A few weeks ago it had decreased from an hour and a bit (at full charge) to about 20 minutes!
Now its completely messed up! If i take the ac out, it says "critical battery!"
Does anyone know if this could be some sort of virus, or have i killed my battery in 8 months!?!?!?!
Cheers
Geo

Hmm...that sounds like a defective battery. IF the battery is indeed lithium-ion battery it should last at least 2-3 years and more with good care.
-
well it could also be due to heavy usage, and you recharging when the battery is still 50% full
But check it out anyway, warranty should still be on -
yea, i'll get on the phone to the company as soon as possible.
Btw, got another bug, once windows has loaded, the keyboard stops responding and the cursor stops moving! My laptop is sooo dying.
It's weird tho, it usually turns off after about 30 seconds on batt. power.
It just crashed, the standby button won't go off, but the computer's still on 10 minutes later!
good thing i back up my files.

Acer batteries are terrible. They are not covered by warranty - there is a reason why Acer notebooks are so cheap - they have the worst phone service, batteries, and parts in their notebooks.
Of course, thats the price you pay for getting a great rig for low $. -
Lol, Acer customer has been good to me.
zazzjazz, I don't know how well you take care of your battery. You can always lie when they ask you what the reason is, and they should take care of you. Does the keyboard stop responding when you are on battery or when you are on AC power? Just go to www.fixmyacer.com and tell 'em all your problems. The webbie has directions. If you want an 800 number, it is

Computer fool with battery problem!
