I have an Acer TravelMate 2300 that's been given to me. I'll be able to use it as a loaner to clients of our food pantry who need something to get a resume done, job searching, etc. I had to re-do the OS, (XP Pro) because I messed up and tried to "convert" the FS to NTFS and blew up the install. Anyway...
I'm in the US. So do I go here ( http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/fo....com&siteid=7117&areaid=2&formid=3394#results) for the driverset? Or, do I go here ( http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/tm_2300.html) for the correct set?
I know one is for PanAm (probably means US) and one is for (EU). But I want to be sure to apply the correct one. I think it's the first one but am not sure as each site appears to have it's own set of drivers for the '2300.
Second question: On the PanAm site they list two drivers for a "TravelMate 4000" under the panel for the '2300. Do I assume that the 4000 series drivers are dual purpose and can be used for the '2300?
Final question: Can someone show me the correct layout of the driver CD. IOW do I just put these unzipped drivers into folders that I can name on my own or is there a specific naming convention to use so that Windows will find them in the structure?
Thank you folks for any guidance you can give me. Our clients will appreciate having something they can use even temporarily while they try to get back on their feet...

I find that the EU ones are usually the most up-to-date. Never had a problem using them on my Acer laptop
Acer generally does make hardware for multiple series. I expect you are probably correct about the 4000 and 2300
As far as I know, there is no specific structure. Extract and run to update your drivers -
Thanks very much for the confirmation. I just don't want to mess this up again! I'll try to post back positive or negative results.
