Ok, I just received a 5024wlmi today, and wanted to convert the two useable partitions to NTFS.
Searching on these forums produces confusing answers.
1) Does converting both the C and D partitions to NTFS (leaving the hidden partition as FAT32) break any functionality of the Acer eRecovery?
2) Do the 2 included recovery cds contain exactly what's on the hidden partition?
3) If this is the case and one day I need to perform a recovery, does it matter if the eRecovery ALT + F10 thing doesn't work if I can just boot off the CDS and fix from there? Or do the bootable recovery cds also not work if the two partitions are NTFS?
4) Do I need to make a recovery disc(s) if I have the 2 recovery cds from the package?
Thanks

Heres what i know. If you use the ALT-F10 method, that works in DOS mode, this mode will not be able to read or write to NTFS partitions. If you can boot off the CDs in order to recover or reinstall then you should be fine with NTFS partitions. HAve you tried booting off the CDs to see if it works?
I have an 8204 and it arrived with no CDs at all so i can't answer any questions about that. Without CD's i had to make recovery disks. If you are prompted to, you should too, not knowing what is on those CDs. -
If you use Recovery cd's you ok.
