Been wondering about this ever since I received my 5820TG. It has an AUO40SEC, which has a low white level, fairly obvious "pixel feel", also possibly causing some ugly (lack of) dithering in red and green gradients (this point could be caused by ATi driver instead).

I've read through the other TimelineX threads, and it seems like some people, mainly those in Europe, have gotten their hands on TimelineX's with LG Philips and Samsung screens, and have commented positively especially on the LG screens.

So is it to everyone's consensus that the LG Philips screens are the best?

I may purchase one and try to swap the AUO out. Has anyone any experience (or posted anything about TimelineX screen swap) with this?

Here's the screen I'm keeping a close look on. A European NBR user who bought a 5553G posted here about how it's great some time ago.

    Thanks.

I know I already posted a warning about websites like that in the other forum section... but I would be VERY cautious of that site...

Notice how it says LP156WH3(TL)(A1) replacement screen. Don't you think that could mean, "compatible substitute"?
