2)do you want to upgrade CPU on you you "sig's" notebook? -
i think i understand what you mean.yes i want to upgrade the cpu in my sig,
i may have found a T9400 at a reasonable price i will no in a couple of days.
this is what i have found out.
Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 Laptop CPU Processor - 45nm manufacturing technology.
It uses the 478Pin Socket P Micro-FCPGA connection to the motherboard.
Below is some of the detail for the processor - which i found on the Intel website.
The Processor has:-
2.53 GHz CPU Speed / 1066 Mhz Bus Speed (FSB)/ 6 MB L2 Cache / on a 45 nm mfg tech
Specifications: Intel® Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T9400
sSpec Number: SLB46

will this fit ?? thanks -
AFAIK,no,you can't.
-
It will physically fit but it won't work. The CPU require GM45 chipset while the Aspire 5315 has the GL960.
-
now i am more than a little confused this is from another thread mine has the GM965 chipset

Be careful - you've listed some AMD Turions in there, which use Socket S1 and are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the Core 2 Duos you're after.
The Core 2 Duos T7200, T7400, and T7600 are on Socket M, so they're incompatible (no physical fit).
Plus, the Core 2 Extreme has a higher thermal output than regular Core 2 Duos - your cooling system might not be up to the task.
Your best bet for the upgrade will be the T8100, T8300, T9300, or T9500. The middle two are the sweet spot for power vs. price.
Although, a T7700 or T7800 will do if the price difference is substantial.
Oh, and check the upgrade thread here on NBR Acer for compatibility.
EDIT: And please, add some punctuation and grammar to your posts! It'll help us read them and understand what you're trying to do, saving the both of us from headaches. -
Any of Intel CPU's from above list with 800mhz FSB will work.
I personally upgraded my T5250 to T5470 an then finally to T9300 witch i think was best deal at that time.
