So I picked up this comp the other week and I'm having a couple of small issues with it. It came with linux but I've formatted and installed windows 7 Ultimate. I installed all the drivers from the Acer site for this model and there are no ! in the device manager.Hopefully some of you guys can help with these...

    1. The sound is a bit hollow. When watching movies background sounds like the rustling of clothes is much louder than you would expect and voices are sometimes hard to hear. There is a 'hiss' along side this too.

    2. It has an i5 proc which has an IGP as well as a 6650m but I can-t find any way to witch between the two. Am I missing some software for this?

    3. The comp has a second HDD bay but the cover for it has plastic strips on the back of it so I can't use it. The SATA port works, I was able to add a HDD in and copy over data but it's impossible to put the cover on while the 2nd drive is in there. Will Acer send me a proper cover for this so I cn actually use the comp to it's fullest?

I prolly have a few more questions but I'll add them later.

    Thanks for any help...

No one? I'm sure the second and third questions at least would be relevant to several models. Any ideas?

    1. Make sure you can see a subwoofer tab in your sound settings, if not then you need to get some different drivers.

    2. No switching in this laptop AFAIK.

    3. You can buy a cover from any Acer parts supplier, just find the FRU and the right part number.

I finished installing win 7 on the machine.

I did not install any audio drivers and the sound is fine.
I did not find any info on switching the graphics on this notebook.
Saw some other post about some options in the bios but I do not have such an option after upgrading the bios.

    No drivers = no subwoofer.

What bios did you use and what options did you expect?

Acer offered me the AS7750G-2676G50MN as a replace for my 8935G/Q9000. First of all, I wondered if this is a good deal, as the replace costs only €820 and I payed (2 yrs ago) €1200.
The main diffirence in specs are:

    Aspire 7750G-2676G50MN

    -Core i7-2670QM 2,2 GHz
    -6GB DDR3 RAM
    -17.3" screen 1600:900
    -Radeon HD 6650M
-3 usb ports, one being USB 3.0

    Aspire 8935g-the Q9000 version

    -Q9000 2.0 GHz
    -4GB DDR3 RAM
    -18.4" screen 1920:1080
    -Mobility Radeon 4670
-5 USB ports, one being eSATA

It would mean a great deal to me if I knew I can insert a second HDD in this one, and if I can be sure Acer isn't giving me a bad offer. I am getting a new 2 year guarantee thou.
Another question: how can I know if it is Sata II or III?

    Sorry for bumping BTW.

    Thanks in advance!
