    Hi everybody,

Since a couple of weeks I'm a proud owner of an Aspire 8920g, however lately I experienced some 'small' problems with it, and I got some questions too:

    • Accidently I removed the eRecovery Manager from my laptop. I have downloaded it from Acer's FTP site. But during install it fails with 'eRecovery can not be installed - 1. Bootable File'.

    • How can I install a secondary Operating System, Linux, without destroying the ALT+F10 option for recovery during boot

    • I play World of Warcraft on it. A lot... However, sometimes the sound goes funny, and the laptop acts very, very slow. The sound, coming from both of WoW and teamspeak, is like a radio station but not adjusted on the right channel, with a lot of debris in it. It only takes a minute or so, then the laptop is 'normal' again (and I can kill another horde).

    • There's quite a big C:\ACER directory on my harddrive, guess it was created during initial setup. Can I safely remove it?

    • Any change the videocard(drivers) will support NVIDIA PhysX acceleration?

Thanks for reading, and hopefully I got some answers...

    Regards,
    Leo.

Hi Leo, welcome to the forums!
If I'm not mistaken, the large C:\ACER directory contains most of your drivers and utilities installation files. Have a look around and see if I'm right, of course.

The NVIDIA drivers that came with your machine won't have PhysX acceleration, but 177.39 does. Download it here at LaptopVideo2Go, and follow the instructions with the modded INF.
Also, note that this driver is not WHQL certified - that means you'll be losing Blu-ray playback should you upgrade.
