This has been driving me slowly crazy since I bought my TravelMate 5720G which came preinstalled with Vista.
When some of the keys on the numeric row (i.e. 1 through Backspace) are pressed with SHIFT or CONTROL they autorepeat crazily when the key has been released but the SHIFT or CONTROL key is still being held down. Sometimes I just get a few repeats and sometimes it seems to repeat forever until I release the SHIFT or CONTROL key.
It's infuriating when you want to type something like (ACER - you'd naturally hold the SHIFT key down after pressing ( in preporation for the capital A, but you just get a mass of ((((((((((((((((((((((((((
Also in apps like Photoshop where you zoom in/out by using CONTROL+ and CONTROL- you get a mass of repeats so you end up fully zoomed-in or out.
I thought this might be specific to my laptop, but I recently went to a course where the tutor was using an Acer laptop, and he was getting the same crazy auto-repeat behaviour.
I just tried a quick test using SHIFT in Notepad and found that the keys ^ * ( all had a crazy autorepeat with the SHIFT key.
Has anyone noticed this problem on their Acer laptop - and more importantly found a cure for it?
