I have a Acer 5520-5716 that I just bought. This morning I tried to make the OS rescue DVDs, and it claimed that it needed two DVDs. When it prompted me to remove the first DVD and insert a new blank one, I couldn't eject the 1st disc using the eject button. I finally did an emergency eject, inserted a new disk and continued on with the DVD creation. As a test, I tried to read the 1st DVD in another system, and it failed to do so. I didn't get an error - just a blank explorer windows. It started "verifying" the DVD, but I had to leave for work.

I have a feeling I just wasted two DVDs, but I won't know for sure until this evening. Can anyone comment?

Well, it turns out the dialog box came up long before it was supposed to, and I should have let the DVD eject on its own. Everything is okay (I guess).
