Hello, I read many people created a restore disc almost immediately after first booting up their 5920G using the Acer eRecovery feature. In my naive enthusiasm I made no such disc, and after loading on my music and games etc such a backup image would be around 60gigs.

Is it possible to create a backup DVD from the hidden recovery partition? Or am I faced with having to remove all my bulky data and then make an image.

Or is it safe to rely on the recovery partition?

    Thanks for any help.

    1 Boot to Windows XP.
2 Press <Alt> + <F10> to open the Acer eRecovery Management utility.
3 Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros.
4 In the Acer eRecovery Management window, select Recovery actions and
    click Next.
5 In the Recovery settings window, select Reinstall applications/drivers and
    click Next.
6 Select the desired driver/application and follow the instructions on screen
    to re-install.

There is an option in Acer eRecovery to burn a factory default disc. This feature is NOT influenced by the current state of your system as the software reads the image already stored in the HD.

Just type in "erecovery" in the start menu to open eRecovery.
