I was wondering if anyone tried this. To make his own PQService partition, with a customized Windows (I mean, the ideea is to back-up a clean and configured Windows there and restore it with Alt+F10).

    Hmmmm... anyone?

I would also want to know what triggers the Alt+F10 command, maybe I can link the Acronis recovery system with it.

the ALT+F10 command is called up by the MASTER BOOT RECORD...

acer uses a custom MBR... that's why after people FDISK & FORMAT using a RETAIL CD they can no longer use the ALT-F10 keystroke is not recognized

to link Alt+F10 to anything other than the custom prog that boots from the hidden partition is going to be MUCH HARDER than just editing and rebuilding the RECOVERY DISKS that is IMO anyway

I use Paragon Drive Backup which allows you to use a special hotkey to enter the "Recovery capsule".

does that hotkey work thru the BIOS and call up a standalone recovery software solution,,, or do you have to have a working WINDOWS install to be able to use the PARAGON DRIVE BACKUP....

either way it sounds like a really useful feature..

maybe you should create a walk-thru guide to setting it up and using it....

i know i could benifit from it!!!

Same thing can be done with Acronis too. I was interested in restoring that Acer function but with my own Windows configuration (the one that doesn't wipes the whole HDD on restoration and it's crapware free).
