I just recieved my Acer 5672wlmi from Newegg and was going to try to burn the recovery disc. When I tried to put a blank DVD in, I manually put it in about 3/4 of the way and it would eject it. I tried two brands of DVDs, both blank.

I've never had a slot loading DVD reader/writer/etc. so I may be doing this wrong, but if I'm not, any ideas as to what it could be and how to fix it without sending it back in?

    Thanks in advance.

May be pushing DVD in too hard. Try place in slot, just bump in a little, repeat. Tap outer edge of DVD til loader feeds itself. The angle you are pushing may cause it to eject. Had similar on my 1st use of new K06 until I learned correct `feel'. GL d8d
If it kicks out when trying this I would call ACER for RMA!

I am doing that, and when it has about 1/4 of the DVD still sticking out it seems to have something holding it back. If I push it more ever so slightly, it takes it in until maybe 1/16th of the DVD is sticking out and then completely ejects it.

that is why I like more try-loading cd/dvd drives (and the rumours that they break more, are nonsense).

I have a slot loading drive in my 9500 i like/hate it, what I hate is that if you have a cd in it and move the computer it will hit something in the drive and scratch the cd, gets really annoying.
