I recently reinstalled windows on my aspire 2012 from an actual windows CD. I've done this before and everything worked fine. Everything is working well except DVD playback is not working.

Aspire Arcade is the only program that will play DVD's in full screen. PowerDVD will not open, Windows Media Player will only play in a window, not full screen.

I havn't made any changes since installing windows last time. Drivers are all up to date. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running the newest Omega drivers and am using a soundblaster audigy 2 zs notebook.

    Thanks

WMP is a terrible program for watching DVDs, but I think it's Control + Enter to get to full screen. Have you tried something like WinDVD? I'm not familiar with PowerDVD, but if it won't open it sounds like it needs to be re-installed.

Does the drive work otherwise like burning discs? VideoLan is free and plays most everything:

WMP is terrible i agree. I've tried reinstalling PowerDVD and it didnt help. I downloaded the WinDVD trial to see if it would work but when i push play the disk spins up, and then nothing happens. The drive works perfectly other than that.
