Hello you guys. I accidentally dropped my Acer Travelmate 5720 on a cement floor. It fell right on the grill of the air fan side. Now, when I turn it on, the screen appears bright blank and it just won´t kick off. I wonder if anyone can
possibly guess if I damaged the hard drive. If so, would it be an expensive reapair job and/or would I lose my installed programs and files?
Thanks a lot for your help.

You could have damaged anything to the point where it won't work. You also could have damaged things to the point where they work now but might not soon in the future.

You can start by swapping out the hard drive, seeing if that fixes it, and if not, swap out the next component, etc. You might have busted your motherboard or gpu, which could be a huge problem.

Personally, I would change the hard drive out, and if that doesn't work, I would buy a new laptop, or try to use my warranty if I have it (but they might be able to tell that you dropped it).
