From the horse's mouth:
The AS6935-6924 is set to debut on September 20th in Canadian retail channels and resellers at $1,099 with the following specs:
-Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 @ 2.0 GHz
-320GB hard drive
-4GB of DDR2-1066 RAM (I think that's a misprint, tho)
-Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT 512MB (probably GDDR3)
-Blu-Ray/Super-Multi optical drive
-16" WXGA (1366x768) screen
-8 Cell Battery
-Vista Home Premium (not stated if 64-bit)
(Now everyone who bought the 6920G at the start of the summer feels really really silly)
As well, two additional models of the 8930G were snuck onto the product sheet - the 8930-6321 and 8920-6469. They're both similar to the original config I mentioned here, but have the T5870 processor instead. As well, the 8920-6321 has a SECOND 320GB hard drive. As a result, the 8920-6321 is priced at $1,799, while the 8920-6469 is priced at $1,199.

The 6935 and the 8930 are not compatible with the T5870.
The 6935 will come with the P7350 (2.00GHz).
I am really tempted to buy the 5930G

Well, the document said it was a T5800 (which doesn't exist at all!), so I just hazarded a guess.
And why aren't they compatible? The Lenovo SL series can have the T5870, and it's a Montevina platform machine. -
Well even though it maybe backward compatible with the Montevina Chipset. Acer would never add compatibility for a Merom CPU, in one of their premium laptops based upon the Centrino 2 platform. Instead they are selling it with the lowest Penryn.
There have been typos on many sites, that I have seen. Once these laptops are actually released in the market, everything will be clear. -
well sh*t...
i just recently got a 6920 (for $899) -
I bet graphic card is a missprint too. My 6920G was upposed to have a 9600 too...
-
Naw, the GPU is not a misprint. The 6920G - 8600M GT and 9500M GS; 6935G - 9600M GT and ??
-
Yeah, the GFX card isn't a misprint.
And yes, Darrick, my 6920G cost the same as this new 6935G, and probably is a full 1000-2000 3DMarks weaker.
But, it's my system right now, so I'll live with it.
Technology marches on... -
I got my 6920g for 697 CDN - but maybe I`ll take it back.
I hate the non-US keyboard layout. -
Why? Because in another half of year, at most, we will se another line of products, maybe with quad processors, better graphics... in this world it is best to get what you can, when you need it. Waiting is never a real option, because you will always wait for something else... and wait... and wait...

hey lewdvig, what are the specs on ur machine?
is it the T5750, 3GB, 9500M, bluray-one from staples? -
T5550
3 GB RAM
320 GB HDD
9500m GS
Fingerprint reader
There are a few things I hate about this notebook already.
keyboard stinks - spongy, cramped off center
media controls are ridiculously proportioned
how many blinking light does a notebook need?
I will write a review for posterity - hopefully the new model fixes the issues. -
cool, i have the exact same system... althogh i got it for 899
i have the same issues as u...
hate the keyboard, especially the bilingual layout
media keys are useless, i wouldve rather had a numpad
im on a wired connection most of the time so luckily i can turn the led off -
I liked the Gateway M-6864FX better when it was the same price, but this Acer was $200 less on clearance so I took the FX back.
I'll might sell this when the Montevinas come out. But then again as long as it doesn't over heat I did get a good deal. Maybe I will get used to it.
Dated: Aspire 6935G In Canada on Sept. 20!
