It doesn't start neither with a power cord connected ot disconnected, right?
If it's still covered by warranty contact Acer.
It's not a common thing (I realize it's not much of a consolation though).
You may be forced to replace a motherboard- see how much do these cost on ebay or such and contact Acer to see how much would they charge.

    step 1 unlupg power.
    2. remove battery
    3. hold power button for a full 35 sec
    4. plug power cord back in laptoo w/o battery and let us know what it does...

if it works w/o the battery in then your battery needs replaced and to get one that willl last more than 91 days (90 day warranty) eitrher go straight from ACER or plan on buying an EBAY battery that is NEW and has atleast a a 1yr replacement warranty ($70 or more for the 6 cell equvilant.) and if you use it on battery only buy a 9 cell...

    check your PM

These have to be quality posts- not just one-liners meant to give you a sufficient post count.
The rule is here for a reason and the reason was not to get more useless post on the forum.
I had to delete a few posts.

It was suggested by a guy at a well known pc outlet that it may be the power supply that had gone wrong have now tested it and its OK at 19.15V.

no POST or splash screen when plugged into the wall without a battery in would indicate a hardware problem of some sort...
especially if you are not getting power led indicator lights on and pressing the power button.

start removing the easy to get to parts... but i've even seen internal modems go bad and prevent power-up... also with HDDs, CDs, DVDs, RAM, but it's beginning to sound like a hardware or (pray it's not firmware) maybe it's in the power connector on the motherboard that have became disconnected?

problems where you have no physical response to power means some part somewhere is bad and it could even be the MB but not likely unless it took a huge voltage spike.

do you get any lights under any circumstances????

Hello, I am a new to this forum and I have the same problem.
When I remove my 3V battery from the motherboard I am able to power up the PC but only once. I need to remove it again each time I need to startup (it start as soon as I put power supply, without laptop battery).

So I remove the 3V battery and not put it again and now each time I put in my power adapter jack, the pc start (with reset data and time)

I think this issue can be related to a problem in manage bios data, but I cannot be sure.

    Some news?

    Thanks

spoke to IT guy Friday he stripped the whole laptop chips the lot not something I would try! he thinks its a dry solder some where on the mother board and he has made it good by chance the laptop has repeated the no start situation since but all I have to do is unplug take out the battery turn over and press gently in a certain area and bingo all is good, well its the modern give it a good bang on the side fix but until that no longer works it will do.
