My Daughter brings me her acer 5002wlmi (1yr 2months old) won't turn on. Plugged in with power supply and battery press the power button i get 5-9 blinks of the battery light, but will not turn on; pull the battery just plugged in i get nothing. Had this plugged in all day and the power supply isn't even warm i'm thinking its the power supply any other thoughts on this?

Sounds like a fried or dead motherboard to me has all the classic symptoms. You can try re-seating the RAM but I doubt that will make any difference. I would just look into getting a new one, because it will cost quite a bit for a new motherboard and to have the work done if you can't do it yourself.

I've changed out motherboards and it's definitely not for the faint of heart.

If the lights are blinking then it's getting power.
