I just got a new Acer Aspire 5536 laptop for my brother and I'm doing the normal initial set up stuff. I checked and there's a newer BIOS on the website for this machine. But I can't seem to find any description of the BIOS revisions in the file downloaded or on the website.

Any suggestions for where to find a change list for Acer BIOS revisions? I've got BIOS 1.10 and strangely the available BIOS revisions skip from 1.08 to 1.11, making me think there may be an issue with the 1.10 release.

    Thanks for any thoughts!

I haven't been able to locate a changelog for the BIOS on my Acer either. Perhaps they don't make it available publicly.

If you send Acer an e-mail and ask them for changelog, they'll send it to you :)

And if there's nothing wrong with your BIOS, don't upgrade.
If anything goes wrong, your system is bricked.

That's true, I upgraded BIOS 3 times on my 1810TZ and didn't notice any difference

Well, I've sent an email off to Acer and we'll see what they say. It seems to mostly be running OK after getting rid of all the typical junkware on it.

I've also asked them about HDD temps on this laptop. The 320GB drive is running at 56°-58° during testing and that seems way high.

I sent the email off a couple of weeks ago (via their website) and never got a response of any kind.

That's the way Acer do... I'm waiting for some answers for months...
My Aspire 5536 is with the first BIOS rev. 1.03, and sometimes fails to wake up after sleep mode ( the OS is Win7 Ultimate x86). I was also wondering if the changes in newer BIOS revisions are related to such a problem...
