    Hi there

    I know I m a moaner, but...

I just bought Acer 1692 and now I found out I could have got 5021 model, that has 128Mb ram X700 instead of 64Mb one, 4 USB 2 slots instead of 3 and most of all, Turion processor that is 64 bit and in that way future more proof. Other spec is the same :-( I wanted a Centrino before, but seems that the value of 1692 is not so good :-( And the price was higher also.

Is there any comfort in my 1692 that the 5021 doesn't have?

    Yours

    Jernej

Well...yours has better battery life and runs cooler. You also have the SAME video card, just with half the RAM.

Notebooks....they're tough. Whenever you buy one, there's always a better one there in a month.

I have a desktop to do my gaming on...so I am not worried about my video performance, although I do have an MRX700.

From my 3Dmark 2005 readings half the ram means half the speed :-(

That's what I was trying to ask. Is it half the speed in real like or is 3D mark a little unfair here? Can't imagine half memory making such difference in score.

Question: Do you have only 1 RAM slot? Can you go to a store and add another 256 RAM for 29.99 and double your speed?
