    Another report :
    Translated from Thai

    Date: 26-02-2012.

Acer on Wednesday in the past. has announced the strategy "Global Trust Local Touch" to be implemented this year. The show, which is the product. The show is great, but mainly it is a product available to them as Acer Aspire Timeline X, Acer Aspire S3, Acer Aspire One, Acer ICONIA Tab A500 and Acer ICONIA Tab A100 etc.

But when you look at it, notably with the new notebooks from Acer, never before seen on the Acer Aspire M3 Timeline Ultra-looking from the outside material is a metal black size 15-inch screen with a number key to set. Important it is to come up with a simple design. Last but elegant style. And some, known as 15-inch notebook that is thin enough to do it. Is that it is similar to the design of new Ultrabook Acer Aspire S5 at CES 2012 as we see it.

The inside of the machine looks like a beautiful lawn and landscape around the camp Ultrabook notice that the touchpad is very large. Please click on the left and right buttons. But to use it. It also hit at the same time.

The logo shows a series made it clear that the Aspire Timeline U of U in here, the Ultra, so the full name, but the Aspire Timeline Ultra from I asked the staff Acer then the series will be replaced. The current version of the Aspire Timeline X also has a large keypad. The laptop with a screen size of 15 inches.

Label the specifications dictated in, we know that within a processor Intel Core i7 and graphics cards from the latest generation of NVIDIA is GEFORCE GT640M RAM 1GB in addition to that, there are between the operating system Window 7's built. for He has been dating for Perkin marker of Intel chips and Windows 7 will be like Ultrabook but that's what this is, but somehow I Ultrabook.

The keyboard of the trial then. Experience to good use rather than go ahead first.

Under the Acer logo, and Dolby Home Threter guarantee the quality of the sound comes out. I certainly have.

The hinge of the screen is a left-right pair of metal pieces. From the opening screen, it's been a great strength. To believe that it is better than plastic hinge exactly simple.

The top of the screen with the webcam and microphone for compatible VDO Call.

Outside of the machine, it is also simple but elegant look with a metallic material, the whole remains intact. It is expected that this metal is not a loop in the aluminum magnesium alloy.

Below is a cooling device. With a removable hard drive and RAM upgrades on their own.

There is also a pair of left and right speakers mounted on the bottom of the machine as well.

Other specs are not related to the processing chip and graphics card is on the sticker on the bottom of the unit.

Look at the connection port on the back. Well known to every one and number two USB 2.0 ports, USB 3.0 ports 1, HDMI 1 port, LAN 1 port, and a power socket adapter.

I moved to the left of the machine as a heat sink and a headphone jack that I designed it perfectly.

The left side of the machine and a DVD drive, card reader SD Card standard.

The right is just a block of the laptop to the desktop only. In this corner, we see clearly that some of the machine.

The view from the inside you will find the rough specs. As little as the Intel Core i7-2637M at 1.7GHz with 6GB RAM and a 64bit Windows Home Premium also has a score of times that there is not enough. Most importantly, we know that the model is the Acer Aspire M3 Timeline Ultra.

Weight of the machine to the spec on the screen size of 15.6 inches, but it is much harder to hold in one hand is. Expected to be approximately 2 kg in weight only. The screen resolution is 1366 x 768 pixel screen does not reflect light to the eye.

How well do with my Acer Aspire M3 Timeline Ultra, which was then considered to be quite reasonable. The information obtained from this model was estimated to be in Thailand this year. To replace the original version, as I said, that it is Ultrabook Aspire S5 version will come at that time as well as the price of the Acer Acer Aspire M3 Timeline Ultra is not telling us the same. But I just do not buy that for sure. Eaaepenwea If the estimate seems to be in the 30,000 to 40,000 baht, with screen sizes 14 inches and 15 inches into the market in Thailand.

Included in the new version of the tablet. Acer ICONIA A510 can not be here to fill it.

A low power ultralight notebook with a rebranded GT 525? Is there a market for these? I would rather have an LG P330.

I have paid attention to p330 too, but many users say LG's build quality is crapy....

    Look carefully:

    - this looks like 3DMark P6412 - is this 3DMark Vantage or 3DMark06 ?

When acer means 3DMark06 its write 3DMark06 as they do it in other place pdf.
Im notsure but this can not be the same chip (GT525M).

nVidia 630M is a rebranded 540M so 640M has to be faster than that- it can't be a rebranded 525M

lets hope so you mean :)

So how you came to that conclusion bronsky?

If they mean 3dmark 06 that score is extremely weak!

    3dmark vantage seems more reasonable

3DMark Vantage sounds great! The result is almost as GTX460M in this thin laptop.

But it looks too good to be true. GT640M score 3DMark Vantage P6412 :)

nVidia 635M scores a bit higher than 540M but a bit lower than GTX460M.
So GT640 should be somewhere between the two.
Ming you it's only an approximation on my part so I may be entirely wrong...

Hmmm. Read the stuff on the GT 640M somewhere but it looks like it might be wrong. Would love to see something as powerful as the LG's GT 555 in a 14" Timeline. Hopefully, Acer designs adequate cooling into this notebook.

Hopefully they do- but DDR3 sort of spoils the fun and the price is steep too.
Other than that I like it- looking forward to some proper reviews.

    Awesome thank you!

Looks to be the first real benchmarks of the 640m!

How can I rep someone? :)

Very interesting! They have only run a 3dmark 05 benchmark and tested 3 Games.. Stalker, RE:5 and Lost Planet 2

Lets see how much the 540m in the m11x r3 gets then ( also ULV, but a bit better the 2657m)

    Source

Now lets not forget that the acer uses an Ultra-low-Voltage i5-2467m processor

Can someone give a good indication of where the 640m stands in comparison to the 500m series???

    EDIT: Some more info

Its probably too outdated.. but maybe the avg fps of stalker, resident evil 5 and lost planet 2 give a good indication? Also there are cinebench 10 and 11.5 benchmarks

    Stalker
    Resident Evil 5
    Lost Planet 2

    Cinebench 10
    [IMG]

    Cinebench 11.5
    [IMG]

Okay its not the best benchmarks but its better than nothing right? :)

The 640M is nearly 100 marks lower than than the 540M in 3DM05. Guess we'll have to wait & see. I wonder if there will be a 13 inch like the article says, I think there won't be since Acer is focusing its 13" marketing on the S5 ultrabook.

Take a look at the Acer USA site and check out the current Timelines. Acer dropped all 13" "TG" models. Even though the reviewer says that a 13" Timeline Ultra is coming, it doesn't make sense that Acer would release a 13" IGPU only Timeline, since the S3 and New S5 ultrabooks fill that market niche.

I am assuming that the Timeline Ultra is completely replacing the full powered CPU notebooks like our TimelineX models? I think that's Acer's plan. If they keep this up, I may never get rid of my 3820TG. My full powered, overclocked I5-540M holds its own with Ivy Bridge ULV CPUs and my HD 5650 GPU is not totally eclipsed by the GT 640M AFAICT. My unit is an inch thin, and unlike Ultrabooks, has 2 swappable 5-6 hour batteries (battery life looks to be a real weakness of the Timeline Ultra). It does appear, however, that the temps do not go over 76C under a 20 minute load. That is promissing.

I am leaning toward an Ivy Bridge/HD 4000 equipped replacement for my Acer later this year, with access to an external GPU for serious graphics work.

Do you really think they will drop the 13 inch model? I dont think so it would be a shame, now that they have cooler cpus/gpus the cooling can be improved

btw the 640m seems quite promising, maybe they can even use the 650m in the next 13 inch

Why dont you get the p330 though, because of the display? Its a mess though to import it, atleast in germany.. The customs office here is pure horror ^^

I imported my first 3820TG to the US from Germany (computeruniverse). I am quite familiar with the horrors of German Customs. It took nearly a month to clear customs and ship to the East Coast, US.

The LG is a nice unit but I'm waiting for Ivy Bridge. I would also like a better display with higher resolution than is offered on the LG ATM. I want thunderbolt support which will be available on many Ivy Bridge notebooks. The other is the lack of reliable importers. If PCHome had it in stock, I might have been tempted a few months ago, but IB is too close.

This is what the new Timelines should have been.

Do you know if they release their notebooks in Germany too? I have never seen a Gateway Notebook anywhere here ^^

Now lets see if I keep my p330, that hd+ screen looks promising! Although im not sure if the 640m is a stronger GPU, although it loosk very much like it

Yep. The GT640 is a Kepler. Mobile GK107 Kepler tips up in Acer notebooks My guess is that Acer may release this originally as a Sandy Bridge unit but will upgrade the model to Ivy Bridge when it becomes readily available this summer.

Hi, just recently bought the M3 with the 128GB SDD (120GB formatted?), just to let you guys know that you only have ~65GB left (after removing all the demo 'bloat') to use.

    Looks like there's a 8GB hibernate partition, a 20GB hidden recovery partiton (C drive reports as 100GB)

    Cheers.
