Owned one 1694WLMi (x700 256mb, DDR2) for 4 months now. Satisfied with it, but experienced some lagging in games, occasional hickups in windows and so on, so this week i did some upgrades:

    1. Upgraded from 1GB RAM to 2 GB using TwinMOS PC4300 1GB modules
    2. "Up"graded harddrive to Samsung E7K100 60GB harddrive (have no need for 100GB, and E7k100 is 7200Rpm disk)

At first i noticed speed increase both in windows and games (no tests been done yet), also reinstalled windows (xp pro) and now my system is like a rocket (running BF2 on high without hickups)

Going to try 3dMark05, but first some questions.

I was able to OC mine M760 to 2,2 with setfsb, but I also have one m780 available, is it possible to swap them, or will i need new bios, don't wanna try it if it doesn't work (Retail box is still sealed)

How far can i overclock my GPU/VRAM? ATITool shows artifacts than i try increasing GPU/VRAM even by 1 MHz (359/346), but i don't notice anything than i played BF2 at 380/360.

Where can i find a battery refresh program? My battery works for max 5-10 min, and NHC shows that its at Wear Level 92%.

Thx in advance, and by the way, pardon my English i'm Norwegian :)

    I overclocked mine at

    core speed: 402mhz

    memory speed: 392mhz

I got a few visual defects after setting it to this for the first 10 min but now it is ok and I got 3152 in 3DMark05

    OK, tried some more.

Got it to run BF2 at 410/360, seem's like every time i try to oc memory at more than 360 whole system freezes. Even than i try at stock gpu speed.

    Any thoughts about that?

PS. Downloading 3dmarks05 now, post some results later.

from ur factory stock settings, increase ur memory and core up 10mhz a time then click apply the changes and scan for artifacts (using ATi Tray Tools)

keep doing this up to 400mhz core and 390mhz memory. This is just about the max for the x700
