What is the difference between these?

If I understand it correctly I can make an image with Windows 7 and also with the eRecovery?

I am sure it is just a matter of me not understanding what is happening fully.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ser

eRecovery reverts your computer to a factory state which is Win 7 + all drivers and utilities (eRecovery, Launch Manager etc.) already installed.
As a bonus you get all the bloatware too but eRecovery is useful as your computer is fully functional from the moment the recovery process is finished.

I made recovery disks for my 1830T and put them away. If I ever come to the point I want to give away or sell the lappy I will format the hard drive and use the recovery disks. Otherwise I will not use them. I am about to install a SSD and with that will do a clean Win 7 install.

If you were putting an SSD in, you didn't need the recovery disks. You could have just put the HD away formatted in the original formatting(unless, of course, you're going to use it as an external).
