Hi, the Surround feature in Acer HD Audio panel is turned on by default at every startup, and it causes Vista's audio service to use up to 5% CPU on my laptop; besides I just don't like the surround output as I have just two speakers.

Does anybody know how to turn off surround by deafult? Or any script I can autorun at startup? Thank you!

I have an Acer 5520G with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (and more questions to come! :) ).

The answer is found by toggling the option in the registry: Run 'regedit'
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE/Software/Acer
