    Hi
I have an acer aspire 5520 laptop with vista. I have bought a m-audio firewire audiophile audio interface. I'm having quite big problems. I am not sure this external sound interface works with vista although they have uploaded vista drivers on their website, i just can't seem to get it working. At first i need to disable my on-board soundcard but i just can't find it in the bios, and i'm wondering if i can turn it off at all. Any answers appreciated

I my old Asus I can disable the onboard sound chip in the BIOS. In my Acer however this option is missing..Try to disable the driver in the Device Manager. This should cause it to stop functioning.
