I just got a new Acer TravelMate 4003LCi, I like eveything in it except for the speaker and sound card they are one of the worst speakers i ever saw in a laptop. Low volume, bad quality, plus the volume does not increases in the headphones. Is there any possible way to fix that or shall I just get over it...

sorry i don't have a solution for you....although i've read in reviews that it sounds find when you hook it up to headphones/external speakers. i don't know if that's the case for you.
but seems like the whole TM4000 series has that problem. is that true? anybody own an other model of that series with the same problem?
what about other series? do Acer notebooks have weak speakers in general?

I'm not aware of any LT where it has speakers that can rival a desktop setup, the speakers are small and they just can't reproduce the sounds that a proper speaker can.

Do what Meaker suggested, get the Audigy PCM card and you'll find that it works a lot better than listening to music through the laptop speakers. I have it and it works excellent.

If all you need is higher volume, try using WinDVD or upgrade to PowerDVD 6.0 both have a higher volume output then the default player.

I downloaded DFX plug-ins for Windows Media Player and now the Volume is 50% louder than the original volume, plus the quality is a little better. I suggest everyone who dosent like the sound of the TM400 to download DFX...
