I need to take apart an Aspire 5040 to check a loose screen connection. Does anyone know how or have access to a PDF of an Acer service manual??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, did either of you happen to get hold of a copy of this manual? I'm trying to get inside my 5040 (actually a 5044wlmi) to clean the fan and perhaps replace the heatsink paste, but I can't get the thing open. I'm guessing there are screws under the silver strip across the top of the keyboard? This feels like it might come off with enough force, but equally, it feels like it might break. Any ideas or advice would be hugely appreciated. :)

Sadly not - google was my first port of call, but it only comes up with user manuals or incomplete service guides. This is why I came here... What's snaypsis (synapsis?)?
