Disk data transfer rate index 4.8 on 5920G?

Hi, I was looking at the hardware testing link and the screen shots of the Windows Experience Index rating. All the screenshots had a disk data transfer rate index of 4.9. On mine it is 4.8 . My drive is a WDC WD1600BEVS. Do any of you have the same drive and a rating of 4.9? Any ideas how I can bump it up?

 

Try HDTune to bench your HDD & give us your report

 

Western Digital is slower than Seagate. The difference can be also caused by Robson

wow... i didn't even know they used that one... Mine is a HITACHI Travelstar 5K160, and the model number is HTS541616J9SA00.

Nice stats there Bigspin! I also have WD drives for my desktop, and they have proven to be reliable if a bit boring.

mine is 4.7 on seagate.

Maybe WD & Seagate enable Acoustic management.. Disabling gives better performance.. browse Seagate & WD sites to find a tool
