I have just reinstalled XP on my Aspire 5100 (hard drive failure) with no Acer Utilities installed on advice from the forum (thanks). Everything is working great apart from Fn F5 to toggle to monitor which does not work. When I turn on the laptop with the monitor connected the monitor works fine but the laptop screen stays on. I can turn it off with Fn F6 but if the screen saver activates then & I start woking again, the laptop screen comes back on. Do I need to install one of the utilities to get Fn F5 to toggle the displays.
