OK I have spent a while try to understand the 8930G product codes and have deduced its something like:

    XXYGZZ(Z)abc

    where: XX - processor designation, Y number of gigs RAM, ZZ(Z) gigs HD/10, abc letters designating other features; B - Blu-ray, N - n-wireless, W - glossy screen (not 100% sure...)

The question is I'm looking for a (1) high spec processor; XX=94 (T9400), 9A (T9550) or 90 (Q9000) (but am willing to go for a lower one i.e. 8XXX if the other 2 criterion are met..) with the following criterion:

    - (2) DDR3 RAM - I want to be future proof
    - (3) TV tuner

I know that a models such as 944G64 exist satisfying (1) and (3) and other such as the newer 9A4G100 and 904G100 exist satisfying (1) and (2).

Can any one suggest any models I may have missed which meet (1), (2) and (3)?

Note: As Í plan to use this more as a long term media centre, processing power is not such a large issue and am happy if anyone can suggest any models (Acer 8930s!) which meet (2) and (3)

Edit: Anyone have any info on any advantages of the newly release 8935 over the 8930 - the main difference I see is a change of graphics card and the touch control pad on the right instead of left (with a design change which doesn't seem so nice...) - doesn't seem to have major changes?

Why not settle for 1 and 2 and buy a USB tuner dongle, I have a Hauppage dual diversity which I have used a little and it seems to work okay with my 8930G-644G32B.
I have not had this machine for long but so far am really pleased with it, for me it hit the 'bang for buck sweet spot' as they say and I will be able to upgrade the CPU and add an SSD when the prices come down.

This is not possible in the world of computers, you think you've got the latest and cutting edge technology in your PC or Laptop, then 2 months down the line it's all changed!!!

Well, keep in mind that since Y denotes the amount of RAM you have and not the type, why not go for the models that satisfy (1) and (3) and just upgrade the RAM yourself?
(AFAIK, all 8930s run on DDR3)
