I know some laptops have the option of using DVMT in their BIOS to increase the amount of video memory. Mine does not. I also know that some laptops have hidden BIOS settings to hide this DVMT option. So, I was wondering if anyone knows if my Acer Aspire 5742 has the hidden BIOS or if there is an alternative to increase my video memory. Thank you.

NOTE: This is NOT the AA 5742G!

If your computer has Phoenix BIOS, you can try this

I have 3820TG (Phoenix BIOS) and 1410 (Insyde BIOS) and both of them have unlocked hidden menus. Changing DVMT seems to make no difference.

    Worth a try though.

I do not have a Pheonix BIOS. I believe I have the most up to date version of the Insyde BIOS. (1.17)?
