Bought mine AOA150-1049 from newegg, it did not come with a soft sleeve case. When i have to RMA it, they want me to return the case which i never received. Their inspection department claimed there is one included which is not true in the box i received from them. Any thoughts?

Newgg is wrong. The initial Acer's (the SSD versions) and the Canadian HD versions came with soft cases, from what I understand. I have been tracking this product since mid-September, and have read a great deal about the various permutations of the AAO on this and other forums since then.

I purchased my own AAO (Sapphire Blue 6-cell 160gb) from Newegg, and I can attest, emphatically, that it DOES NOT come with a case.

Go to the eggxpert.com forums, and post a private message to one of the moderators. They are newegg.com employees and will assist you with this mess.

Good luck! You should have no problems once you get to someone knowledgeable at newegg.

I didn't get one with my 1447 model either. Let me know if you have any luck getting one... maybe Acer would send one if it's supposed to be included.

That makes sense, I did receive one of the first batch of 6 cell AAO's in Canada (was on waiting list for long time!)

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! Will try the eggxpert.com route. Tried their Live Chat, the CSR, Darlene, can only file a re-inspection ticket for me after a laboring explanation to prove the difference between 3-cell & 6-cell models. I believe it's the protruding nature of the 6-cell battery preventing it from fitting into the case designed for those 3-cellers.

    Hello,
I bought a black 6-cell 160GB aspire one AOA150-1049 from newegg.com recently. There's no soft case to be found anywhere in the package. Can you confirm that it does come with a soft case or not? Thanks!

Is it possible for you to post a picture showing your 6-celler AAO in the soft case? Wondering whether its the same case as those that come with 3-cell models.

I have a 6 cell AAO from ncixus.com. That case you posted is the exact one that mine came with.

There is no case included with the 6 cell 160 GB One's distributed in North America.
There is a case for the 6 cell, it is a different case than the one for the 3 cell, and it was included with 6 cell models sold in Canada, at least the early ones.

It would sure be nice if Acer included a case.

Good luck with NewEgg, I've always appreciated their service.

Did you order from NewEgg Canada or NewEgg U.S.?

It is easy to assume that you ordered from NewEgg U.S. since NewEgg only recently opened the .ca store.

    Told you so.

I bought about 6 different cases before I received the AAO with 6-cell. I didn't know which one I wanted, and rather than return them, I'm just going to keep them and give them to friends who also purchased the AAO.

I don't skimp on accessories when I am purchasing laptops. I had already done my research on whether the case is included or not before I received my AAO.

I've just received my Acer sleeve today for my 6 cell AAO. Sorry for the poor quality.

Invoice reads, Description: Aspire One Protection bag 6 volt only
    Part Number: LZ.23800.005

I don't know if the 3-cells fit into their sleeve like mine does (with a tad of the front edge sticking out of the sleeve...just a tad)

    Any thoughts?

Sorry to say but that doesn't look like it was made for the 6-cell. The idea behind a sleeve is to not have it sticking out, unprotected, so much.

I would return it if I received that sleeve. JMHO.

Actually, now I remember that 3 cell's slip opens on the 'width' end, while the 6's opens on the 'length' end. So regardless if I've got the right one, it still doesn't fit perfectly. Case solved.

Just an update to whoever cares the outcome of my RMA status with newegg. They finally admitted there's no sleeves come with 6-cell ONE's in the states and sent me a replacement unit. Not hassle-free though, but still got the job done at last.

I just ordered 3 Aspires from Amazon - two 3 cell and one 6 cell. The 3 cell units came with a case - the 6 cell did not, but the case they ship for the 3 cell units also fits the 6 cell very well. Unlike the original ones, it has a velcro tab over the opening and is a little deeper. I called Amazon and they are sending me a new unit. I should have done some research first because after finding this thread, I'm sure the new one will not have the sleeve either. I also called Acer and the rep there had no idea why some would not have a sleeve - he claimed it was up to the seller whether to include it or not. Useless!

Anyway, the cases are so flimsy that I will be getting something more durable for my 6 cell anyway, and the 3 cell units should not be leaving the house as they are for the grand kids homeschooling classes.

Has anyone bought one of these leather netbook covers?:

A little pricey at $45 but very cool looking.
