At the moment, my ePower Management isn't working. Even when I go to the Control Panel and Power Options nothing happens. So I am wondering if there is a third party power manager tool similar to this so that I can set what happens when I close the lid of my laptop and unplug the AC adapter etc.

Doesn't windows have this functionality built-in?

i think your ePower is just corrupt try and use the eRecovery tool to reinstal all of hte programs that origonaly were on the compers, to my knowledge it should lock your computer then restore the programs. i do not think it will delete anything for the had disk. as for third party software i am not sure of any, but look on some key manufactures website, and or google it :)

    good luck!!

It's not the ePower Management. I tried re-installing it and the problem I'm having didn't fix.

The Acer ePower managament utility requires the Microsoft .Net Framework version 1.1 - check Add/Remove programs and ensure it's there - if not that would explain it.

Also, note that Version 2.0 and the 3.0 beta version of the .Net Framework DO NOT replace earlier versions - you must specifically have version 1.1 installed on your machine.

I fixed the problem. I had to uninstall .Net Framework Manually and then reinstall 2.0.
