I just bought a 4402 and whenever I try to download anything via LAN the downloads just stall. I've tried with FireFox and IE, different files from different servers, they all stop.

I've been trying to download game demos to test the graphics and I'm not sure if the wireless downloads will stall out on me, but with my b-router the downloads are too slow either way.

Anyone have any suggestions or had similar problems? All Acer has on their site is a bios to download for the 4400 series.

    Thanks peeps. :)

The internet works otherwise? Can you see the network? I don't know what your internet speed is, but a B router should be enough for most. Might want to the wireless card manufacturer driver. Also updating your router's firmware may help.

It doesn't seem to be a wireless issue. It's an issue when I use the LAN connection. I grabbed the most recent RealTek driver I could find and the problem still persists.

Do your lan drivers allow you to see if there are errors occuring while transfering. Dropping packets/corrupted packets, or errors in general?

Cause I am wondering if this might just be a faulty wire issue.

that could have something to do with it, I'll check that out. Previous to this I was using the cable to stream files to my xbox, but that might use udp or some other simpler more persistent method... I've never noticed files dropping out per se while I'm streaming them, but I don't know if that means anything. Thanks for the suggestion.
