Drivers for 5051 AWXMi

HELLPPPP!!!!

hi guys

i just bought an Acer Aspire 5051 AWXMi Notebook (with aspire 5050 on its monitor)

but i have a problem, i cant find any driver for this nootbook, and it didnt brought any cd.

can u guys help me?

ah, just one more thing, what does AWXMi stands for?

The acer euro ftp will have everything you need, just put in your make and model.

once you have downloaded all the needed drivers, follow this guide to installing them in the correct order http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=77995. Simply follow the install order as listed 1/2 way down in the first post.

hi there , thxs for your help, i just download all the drivers that can be found outside acer site , just like you said, but the drivers that cant be found, i cant found them on the acer ftp site. my laptop is a 5051 , and i cant find that model there.

sorry for any confusion on your part that I may have caused. Your specifc model of laptop is going to be different that the 5672 as listed in that sticky. Basically download all drivers and applications avalible for your specific model laptop (which would be the 5050 or 5051 series). That is what you need total ^_^

By default the order in which you typically install drivers is the following

Chipset
Video
Audio
LAN
dial up
anything else after that is trivial.

the real problem is that 5050 or 5051 series is no where to be found :| not even in that site u just gave me :| i just cant find them. and i need them really urgent ><

btw, what does AWXMi mean? and for what reason didnt my laptop bring any cd?

Ok , these are NOT the official drivers, this was all search by me and tested by me. it should work until acer put the right ones on their site. its just a crappy patch.

Some drivers are alike for all notebooks, like audio, touchpad CardRdr..., the rest was trial n error :\ and 2 f***** days searching in the internet.

Hello. Same notebook here. Are you portuguese? I just bought it and started by formatting when i realized there where no cds at all in the notebook box. i'll try to solve the problem this weekend but if not can you add me to msn? [email protected]

it is in german but the names of the dirvers is in english. Series 5050 and 3050 use one and the same drivers as it seems. and your one 5051 is just one mode of the 5050 series. So don't look for drivers secific to 5051. By the way what is you over-all satisfaction with this model? I read alot about it and I plan to buy it too. But I just want to know if there is something I should know before giving the money e.g.
-heating
-speed (compare it with something that you've had)
-graphic
-office applications
-windows - does it hang up
-design
-where are the usb ports situated (from the pictures that i found one is in front, one-on the left side and where is the third one?)
-what is the model of the dvd-drive - manufacturer and version slave/master
-how many ide-controllers are in there?
-posibilities for update
- (edit)which wireless chip do you have on the mainboard: atheros or broadcom (edit)
