A work mate of mine wants me to add XP to his Aspire before he goes overseas for work purposes. Its sort of urgent and i dont have time to do the googling.
Will i need to slipstream SATA drivers for this model? I have an XP sp3 disc.
Also could someone provide me a link to the drivers
-
Yes, if the AHCI mode is enabled in the BIOS(it is set by default) then yeah you'll need to slipstream the SATA drivers unless you have a usb floppy from which you can install the drivers..
ACER does NOT provide XP drivers for new models, I suggest you write down all the devices from the Device Manager, it will make the search for the XP drivers easier.. -
I guess i will hold it off till next year.
I will try compile the drivers and make a guide, i have a feeling it wont be easy.
Also is the Aspire 6930 supposed to come with an expresscard remote? I see an infrared port but no remote. -
I think it should be easy to find the drivers. Make a list of the devices and I'll search the drivers for you if you want to.
No idea about the expresscard remote, what is the EXACT model number? Acer Aspire 6930-xxxx?
Edit: I don't think it has express-card remote..
