Can you run 2 external monitors on the 5672 using the VGA port for 1 monitor and the DVI for the other?

I don't have a DVI monitor to try it out...

I have a 20" on my dvi and a Plasma 42" on my VGA. I've set the 20" as maindisplay and deactivated the one in my laptop. The 42" is just extended since it can't view the 1680x1050. So I have 2 external displays, but the display from the notebook is off.

Both are running on the same time :> I guess you could clone it as well if you use the correct resolution.

the difference is you are still using 2 monitors regardless. he is asking if you can have a duel display WITH his laptop screen... or that's how I read his question anyway.

You might want to read it again.

    I can clarify.

I do not want the laptop screen on. Most of the time my laptop is closed and off to the side while I use an external monitor. I would like to be able to use 2 external screens with the laptop closed (screen off).

One external screen would be the main screen and the second screen would be an extension of the desktop.

    Thanks!

You can have any combination of two displays (notebook monitor, VGA, DVI, TV). I've given presentations using 2 external monitors, one off the DVI and the other off the VGA.

Thanks! I do love this computer, it's amazingly capable once you get the software side worked out.
