My acer aspire is only a year old, it's HARDLY been used and I have numerous erratic behavior issues with it.
I have done countless downloads and updates for software and it continues to give problems on every start-up, shut-down and opening of programs.
    major issues currently include:
program start-up crashes or on-responsive or error messages
start-up and shut down painfully slow
    displaying code at start-up
system crashes easily and freezes frequently
always seems to be configuring updates but never completes tasks thus creating an endless vicious cycle of updates that never download correctly; updates that never complete - stall, freeze and course general operation to stop; restarting to a start-up that takes ages to wake up and t hen programs freeze, refuse to open, unexplained shut-downs ... the list goes on...
    cheers

Vista or X.P. ? Worth doing a factory restore I imagine from the hidden partition. I have a 9301 originally supplied with XP but I switched to Vista with the free offer at the time ( two years ago ). You should not be having problems like this.
