I have an Acer Aspirer 5315-2077, when I turned it on last night it said that "a disk error occured, press ctrl, alt, del to restart", but this just keeps coming up. Do anyone know what I need to do fix this problem?

It looks like your HDD has died.Have you had any indication or any sign lately that something was wrong?Did you run disc check lately?
If that's the case buy a new hard disc replace the old one ,instal the OS and your notebook will be as good as new.Just hope you backed up and you didn't loose any precious data.

Or you can just try reinstalling new fresh version of OS on your current HDD since only "boot.ini" file might be corrupted and not allowing OS to boot, especially if you have Windows XP installed...

if you have an external hard disk case and access to another computer, swap your hard disk into the case and try to access it that way.
as Arminator says, it could be that only the boot files are corrupt. can happen if you pull the plug or power while its starting/stopping.
some laptop/os specs etc would help to get better replies here....
